BOCCE CANCELED Tuesday 8/22

The weather report that I trust the most says we are in for horrible weather tonight (basically thunderstorms, high wind and hail from 4pm to Midnight – I took a pic).  I checked with other weather forecasts and they confirm.

I don’t want to force anybody to come out in that kind of weather with the season on the line, so for the first time in bocce history  I am canceling due to weather.

All games are going to be rescheduled for Saturday at 10.  Please show up on time because we are going to have a lot of games to get … Read More »

Week 4 Recap

When you sit back and think about it, we’ve got it really good. Tons of people getting together to play a fun game. Lots of cheap beer and shots. A huge green space in the city to use however we want. A bar to go to afterwords that charges as little as $1 per drink. The sweetest trophy around. Cash prizes.

Rain Policy

There is a good likelyhood that it will rain tonight, so here is our quick rain policy. Turbo Bocce has never canceled games for any reason.  If its raining and you want to come play in the rain, go for it.  Many people do, and have lots of fun with it.  If playing in the rain isn’t your thing, feel free to skip this week.  We have make up weeks for a reason.  A second suggestion, Tuesday League players can always come and play on Wednesday when the forecast looks a little better.

Week 5 Recap

Having missed week 5 to go on my honeymoon, I’m sure there are some details I don’t know about, but there are also some things I do know, like who to thank – its a long list.

Greg Griffo stepped up and set up all the bocce equipment (which is not a small job), and then collected all the money.

Josh Griffo, and Jim Whipple (along with Greg) did the lion’s share of the cleaning up at the end of the day.

Julie Gilbert took pictures despite what I hear was quite a torrential downpour, so I could spice up this article with some pics.
