Did you know that celebrating New Years is good for your health?  Its scientifically proven that the more New Years you get the longer you live.  So lets soak up all the New Year we can, shall we.

2016 was a wild and crazy year, both within our own little Turbo Bocce world and in the greater world beyond, thus 2016 deserves to be recapped in a crazy way . . . perhaps by thinking up a bunch of random awards and then capriciously awarding them to whoever comes to mind first?

Blind Draw Bocce Tournament Recap

30 people came out to give the Tipp Hill bocce field a proper test drive.  Going into the first round everybody had their teammate and opponents randomly selected, and after every round from that point on we gathered back together and everybody got a new teammate and a new opponent.  We kept going in that fashion, eliminating people once they amassed two losses, until only four players randomly selected into two teams remained.  Jim Whipple and Andrew Dougherty vs. Scott Mead and Paul Colabufo.

Turbo Bocce Finals Info and Vegas Odds

The Turbo Bocce Finals happens this Saturday, and here are a few things you need to know.

Playoffs are a best of 3 series, so unlike the regular season if you win the first two games (or lose) the series is over.
When you lose in the playoffs your season is, sadly, over.
All playoff games take place at Noon. If you can’t make that time call me at 315-254-3639. If you don’t call and don’t show, you forfeit and your season is over.
This tournament will go all day long and probably finish around 6pm
Everybody (even the teams that don’t make the final tournament )should show up by 6pm because we will have our end of the year party where we give … Read More »
