The sun was out in full force, but it was bocce heating up the afternoon as season speeds towards a close.
Sharkey’s noticed a few people melting and donated a couple cases of water which was most appreciated.
In a particularly notable game, first place team Black Jesus went up against the leading individual scorer in the league Justin McLaughlin, and his team Blue Balls. The games were close but the combined strength of Phil Martino and George Christou of Black Jesus was too much, and Black Jesus managed to win all three games.
Omnipotence is also having a particularly notable season. They beat last year’s runner ups Kentucky Bourbon in all three games, which is a notable accomplishment in itself, but in this case the biggest bit of news is that after eight weeks of bocce Omnipotence has either won all three games or lost all three games in each and every week. Talk about extremes!
Two games everybody should care about are the two bounty games because $100 and $80 prizes were available in each respectively.
In the first bounty game Flailing Weasels protected $100 for the rest of the league and improved their record to an impressive 15-6 by winning all three games against Knights of the Round Ball. They also ensured that next week will have an all time record bounty of $120 on the line!!!!
The second bounty game was a tough one as Beauty and the Beast went up against last year’s champions Mark & Robb. Mark & Robb were able to win the game and the $80, leaving only a $20 bounty on the line for next week.
