If you missed the Italian Fest, I bet you want to know how we did . . . or maybe you don’t.
After seven straight years of taking first place (and usually most of the other money earning spots as well). Turbo Bocce came up empty this year.
We fielded 5 teams out of a 25 team field. The highest finish we had was, I believe, 5th place. The beauty of bocce is, anyone has a chance to win at any time. Sometimes get the bounces, and sometimes you just don’t. This year it was our turn to come up on the losing side.
On the plus side, they added two new courts so a tournament that usually goes until 7 or 8pm this year finished around 4pm.
This is going to make the triple crown standings very interesting. Look for them later this week.
Until then, get ready. Next year’s Italian Fest bocce tournament is about 363 days away, and I plan on starting a new winning streak!
I’m also thinking that we need one more tournament while the weather is still good (if no other reason than to get the bad taste of this tournament out of our mouth), and I’m thinking that tournament should be Saturday October 17th, in Strathmore, where the very first Turbo Bocce Championship took place. Stay tuned for more information about that.
