Ive never wanted to play bocce less than I did last Tuesday, for obvious reasons. If you didn’t get an email from me explaining what happened then you are not on our email list and you should contact me at paul@turbobocce.com to get on it.
The truth is going to bocce was the best thing for me. Even though the games didn’t feel like they mattered much. Getting to talk everything over with friends who sympathized instead of holding everything in meant a lot. I am truly thankful for the friends I have because of bocce and the family our bocce league has become.
Parity continues to be the story of the season. There were some really close games this week, but the closest was between Mean girls and The Sneaky Boccino (it also looked like it was a really fun game).
The Sneaky Boccino won the first game 14-12, which is the longest game of the year so far. Mean Girls won the second game 12-10. Then The Sneaky Boccino won the third game, and the series, 12-10. Each one of the three games required extra bocce to complete. Pretty cool.
One Eye Fish won the first bounty game in another close match up (12-10, 13-11, and 7-11) against Stacy & Goliath. One point in either of the first two games would have given the bounty prize to Stacy & Goliath.
Lover Boys beat Blue Balls two games to on in the second bounty match up (11-8, 4-11, 11-8).
In general there was not a ton of high individual scoring going on, but we had as many bocces as we have ever had. Think those two facts are related?
